Dr. Serwan A. Ismail Hosts Delegation from Kurdistan Region for Diplomatic Discussions under IVLP Program

We had the distinct honor of meeting with the delegation from the Kurdistan Region visiting the United States as part of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the premier professional exchange program of the U.S. Department of State. The visit was organized by the U.S. Consulate General in the Kurdistan Region, Erbil, and sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. The delegation was led by Mr. Peshawa Hawrami, the official spokesperson for the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, and included representatives from all ministries of the Kurdistan Regional Government. During our cordial and productive meeting, we discussed numerous issues pertaining to the Kurdish community and diplomatic affairs, as well as important matters related to the enhancement and development of relations, cultural and experiential exchanges, and addressing social, economic, environmental, and political challenges.
