The 6th edition of the International Innovation Dome Forum for Development and Sustainability concluded successfully in Erbil. The event was organized by the Innovation Dome for Development, Training, and General Trade, in collaboration with the Arjaa International Institute for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development, under the theme:“The Impact of Productivity and Efficiency in Public and Private Sector Institutions.”

The forum gathered a distinguished group of experts, academics, and representatives from both the public and private sectors across Iraq.

Throughout the forum sessions, participants discussed key challenges related to improving institutional performance, enhancing productivity, and achieving administrative and organizational sustainability amid current technological and economic transformations.

At the conclusion of the forum, a set of scientific and practical recommendations were issued, serving as a roadmap for government and private entities aiming to improve institutional performance and achieve effective outcomes. The most notable recommendations included:

1. Promoting a Culture of Institutional Productivity

  • Spreading the principles of continuous improvement (Kaizen) as an effective tool for enhancing work environments.

  • Strengthening the adoption of Results-Based Management (RBM) practices to increase performance efficiency and execution.

2. Embracing Digital Transformation as a Strategic Efficiency Tool

  • Automating routine processes to reduce time and human resource waste while increasing transparency.

  • Utilizing artificial intelligence technologies for data analysis and evidence-based decision-making.

3. Developing Performance and Productivity Measurement Indicators

  • Implementing clear and strategically aligned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Periodically reviewing and updating indicators to ensure alignment with institutional and environmental changes.

The organizers emphasized that these recommendations represent a significant step forward in establishing effective governance practices and enhancing the capacity of both state institutions and private companies to compete and evolve within a dynamic work environment. They called for the integration of these recommendations into sustainable development and administrative reform policies in Iraq and the wider region.
